REMOTE REIKI
Reiki support without being in the same room
Remote Reiki, also commonly called distance Reiki, is Reiki offered when the practitioner and recipient are not physically together.
In my practice, “remote” does not mean impersonal. Your session is still centered on you, with time to connect in a way that fits whether you are new to Reiki or already familiar with working with me.
You do not need to understand Reiki in advance or follow a particular spiritual belief to receive a session. You may come with a clear intention, with something you have been reflecting on, or simply with openness to the experience.
SESSION FORMAT
A simple, flexible remote format
Remote Reiki sessions are offered from a distance, so you and I do not need to be in the same physical space. For a first session, we typically begin with a brief conversation by Zoom or Google Meet so we can connect and discuss anything you would like me to know.
You do not need to remain on video during the Reiki portion, and the practical format may vary depending on whether you are new to working with me or a returning client.
INTENTION
An intention, if it feels useful
Intention can be a meaningful part of a Reiki session, but it is not required.
Some clients already know what they would like to focus on. Others know how they have been feeling but are unsure how to put what they want into words. Some prefer to come without a specific intention at all.
If you would like to work with an intention, I may invite you to reflect beforehand on a simple question: What would I like to welcome more of into my experience?
Your intention might center on a quality such as calm, clarity, grounding, openness, hope, connection, or support.
If you are having trouble finding the right words, I can help you shape the intention with you. I generally encourage intentions that are simple, affirmative, and held without forcing a particular outcome.
For clients who resonate with the spiritual language of Reiki, an intention might be as simple as:
“I welcome a greater sense of [your word] through this session, for my highest good.”
The intention gives us a point of focus. It is not a promise that a particular feeling or result will occur during or after the session.
REIKI IN CONTEXT
Tradition and an evolving field of research
Remote practice within Reiki tradition
Within Reiki tradition, Reiki is understood through the concept of universal life-force energy, and distance practice has long been approached as a way of offering Reiki without requiring physical proximity.
I practice Remote Reiki within that traditional and spiritual framework.
These traditional explanations are part of how Reiki practitioners understand and work with the practice. They should not be confused with established biomedical mechanisms.
Reiki in research
Reiki is also an active and evolving area of scientific study. Researchers have examined Reiki and distant Reiki using randomized trials, systematic reviews, and other clinical study designs. Findings vary by population, outcome, methodology, and study quality, and the evidence base continues to develop.
Research does not establish that every person will experience a particular result or that remote Reiki and in-person Reiki are equivalent. The Biofield Transformations research library is the appropriate place for source-specific studies, findings, limitations, and mixed or null evidence.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
There is no “right” way to experience Reiki
Each person’s experience of Reiki is individual.
A session may feel subtle or noticeable, quiet or reflective. You may become aware of sensations, thoughts, emotions, or simply the opportunity to rest. You may also notice very little during the session itself.
There is no particular sensation you need to have for the session to be meaningful, and I do not interpret a specific sensation as proof that something has been healed, released, cleared, or changed physiologically.
You are welcome to notice your experience without needing to force it into a particular explanation.
COMPLEMENTARY WELLNESS
Reiki as complementary wellness support
Reiki is offered through Biofield Transformations as a complementary wellness and spiritual practice.
It is not medical or mental-health treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent illness. Reiki does not replace care from qualified healthcare or mental-health professionals, and it should not be used as a reason to stop or change medications or treatment plans.
Reiki may be received alongside appropriate professional care as part of a person’s broader approach to wellbeing.
