Online Reiki Certification

A structured four-level Usui Reiki pathway for developing personal practice, practitioner competency, advanced mastery, and the ability to responsibly teach and transmit Reiki.

Biofield Transformations combines self-paced learning with experiential practice, live milestones, integration, mentorship, and competency-based assessment. Each level builds upon the one before it, creating a progressive path from Shoden through Master-Teacher training.

Level 1 — Shoden is currently open for enrollment.

A Four-Level Path of Reiki Practice and Mastery

Reiki training in this program is progressive. Each stage deepens practice, responsibility, judgment, and readiness rather than functioning as a stand-alone course that can be taken out of sequence.

Level 1 · Shoden

Establish

I practice Reiki.

Currently Open for Enrollment

Shoden establishes the foundation of Reiki practice. Students develop a consistent relationship with self-Reiki while learning core Japanese practices, foundational treatment skills, ethical principles, and ways of bringing Reiki into everyday life.

Training includes foundations such as Gokai, Gassho, breath and Tanden awareness, basic treatment, introductory Reiji and Byosen practice, ethics, attunement, and integration.

Shoden is primarily the foundation for personal practice and appropriate informal practice with willing family or friends. Professional-practitioner preparation develops at the next level.

Level 2 · Okuden

Deepen

I responsibly practice Reiki with others.

Shoden certification prerequisite

Okuden deepens the foundations established in Shoden and develops the knowledge, practice, ethics, and judgment needed to work more responsibly with others.

The level introduces the three Level 2 symbols, distance Reiki, refined Japanese practices, professional ethics, and case-based practice. Within the Biofield Transformations pathway, Okuden represents the transition to the professional-practitioner level.

Level 3 · Shinpiden

Embody

Reiki is reflected in how I practice and live.

Okuden certification prerequisite

Shinpiden moves beyond foundational technique toward advanced practitioner development, deeper practice, and mature judgment.

Training includes Dai Ko Myo, advanced treatment practice, deeper Japanese Reiki work, intuitive responsiveness, and the discernment expected of an experienced practitioner. Successful progression leads toward Reiki Master Practitioner / Advanced Practitioner status; this level does not itself authorize independent Reiki teaching or student attunement.

Level 4 · Master-Teacher / Shihan

Transmit

I responsibly teach and transmit Reiki.

Shinpiden certification prerequisite

The Master-Teacher path prepares experienced Reiki practitioners for the responsibilities of teaching, mentoring, assessment, and lineage stewardship.

Training develops competency in Reiki history and pedagogy, student attunement procedures, mentoring, assessment, supervised teaching, and the responsibilities involved in transmitting Reiki to future students.

Teacher authorization is based on demonstrated competency and supervised practicum rather than title or elapsed time alone.

How the Certification Path Works

This program is designed around progression and demonstrated readiness, rather than simply moving through prerecorded material.

Learn

Each level includes structured teaching, readings, demonstrations, guided practices, reflection, assessments, and supporting resources.

Practice & Integrate

Reiki develops through practice. Students integrate what they are learning through self-practice, reflection, treatment experience, journaling, and other level-appropriate practice requirements.

Participate in Required Live Milestones

Although much of the teaching can be completed online and at your own pace, the pathway also includes required live or synchronous milestones appropriate to each level. These include student attunements at Levels 1–3, practical assessment and mentor review, and supervised teaching and attunement competency at the Master-Teacher stage.

Demonstrate Competency

Knowledge, practical skill, ethical judgment, practice evidence, readiness, and mentor review all contribute to certification decisions.

Course completion makes a student eligible for assessment. Demonstrated competency earns certification.

Progression through the four levels is therefore based on required practice, competency, integration, and readiness—not simply the amount of time that has passed.

Why Train with Biofield Transformations?

Choosing Reiki training involves more than choosing a collection of lessons. The structure of the learning experience influences how well students understand what they are practicing, integrate it over time, and apply it responsibly.

Structured, Experiential Learning

The program combines clear teaching with guided practice, reflection, integration, and application. Reiki is approached as something to practice and develop—not simply information to complete.

A Mastery-Based Certification Model

Certification is separated from simple course completion. Students progress by meeting the knowledge, practice, ethical, and competency expectations appropriate to each level.

Practice, Mentorship & Feedback

Learning includes opportunities for practice, integration, mentor review, and level-appropriate feedback rather than relying exclusively on self-paced instruction.

Historically Responsible Reiki Education

The program distinguishes early Japanese Reiki foundations, later historical developments, documented lineage practices, contemporary additions, and Biofield Transformations curriculum decisions rather than presenting every modern Reiki practice as though it came directly from Mikao Usui.

Spiritual Practice with Clear Ethical Boundaries

Reiki is taught as a meaningful spiritual and experiential practice while maintaining clear boundaries around consent, scope of practice, diagnosis, professional communication, and claims.

Traditional and spiritual teachings are not presented as scientifically established medical facts.

What Does Reiki Certification Mean?

Reiki certification through Biofield Transformations represents more than finishing a set of online lessons.

Each level has its own expectations for learning, practice, integration, ethics, and demonstrated competency. Students complete the required course material and practice milestones, then move through the appropriate assessment and mentor-review process for that level.

Certification is awarded when those requirements have been satisfactorily demonstrated.

The expectations also grow as the pathway progresses. Shoden establishes foundational personal practice. Okuden develops practitioner-level competency. Shinpiden develops advanced practitioner mastery and judgment. Master-Teacher training adds the competencies required to responsibly teach, mentor, assess, and transmit Reiki.

This progressive structure is designed to give practice time to mature between levels rather than treating Reiki training as a race toward a title.
